Blooms on Ice

Flowers were frozen into containers of pure distilled water. As the water freezes, the oxygen is squeezed out of the flowers, creating a trail of frozen bubbles. Each 'flower ice cube' was removed from the containers and photographed up to a dozen times, making sure to focus on different parts of the flower. Photos were then post-processed on top of each other to create the BLOOMS ON ICE.
